Not that long ago, in the 80’s and 90’s, progressive dinners, fondue parties, steamboat evenings and traditional home dinner parties were all the rage and whilst I’m not suggesting that we bring back the 80’s, I do have to agree that back in the day, people tended to favour home entertaining for a number of very good reasons
They say you can’t put a price on love, I completely agree, but the most recent ‘Cost Of Love’ survey has quoted the average cost of a wedding for Australian couples is $54,294!
This is an increase of a massive 11% since the last survey and the wedding industry in Perth shows no signs of slowing down.
It’s New Year’s eve, it’s time to party, but gone are the days when you would line up for an hour outside a club in Perth or Northbridge, only to squeeze in, line up again at a bar that is 10 people deep, and handover a $50 note, knowing you are not getting change from the two cocktails that you ordered.
You have managed to avoid it for the past 3 years, but now the time has come, you couldn’t avoid it any longer. You tried, you really did. You had your excuses all lined up. But they just didn’t fly this year. Time to just accept it and get cracking, there is no getting out of it – you are catering for Christmas this year. Arrggghhh!
